1995 pelo Prof. Dr. Edson Luiz Riccio e pesquisadores do EAC FEA/USP colaboram
com o desenvolvimento das pesquisas e atividades de ensino.
O TECSI é associado a
Laboratórios de Pesquisas Internacionais da França, Portugal e Estados Unidos.

Objetivos Gerais
Contribuir para o desenvolvimento de pesquisas sobre a gestão e os efeitos da Tecnologia e Sistemas de Informação (TI)
nas organizações, como apoio ao processo de gestão empresarial e educacional.
Estudar a TI e os Sistemas de Informação na sua interseção com os domínios fundamentais de outras áreas de estudo
como Administração, Controladoria, Contabilidade, Educação, Custos, Auditoria, Planejamento e Controle, Estratégia e
Informação.
Os domínios das áreas acima são examinados em um contexto universal sendo que as pesquisas são dirigidas ao estudo
das situações brasileiras.Os conceitos básicos de cada área chave são:

Administração / Estratégia
Preocupa-se em estudar como a Tecnologia de Informação cria novas oportunidades de
negócios e o seu impacto na estrutura e no comportamento das empresas, mercados e indústrias.
Auditoria
Estuda a influência da TI no desenvolvimento da auditoria, tanto na Auditoria de
Sistemas, Auditoria Financeira quanto na Auditoria de Gestão.
Conhecimento
Compreende o estudo da natureza da informação como uma vantagem competitiva e
como ela é utilizada, distribuída e gerenciada nas organizações.
Contabilidade / Controladoria / Planejamento
Compreende as necessidades de mensuração e da evolução dos modelos
de Contabilidade Estratégica, Gerencial e Financeira.
Custos
Compreende os sistemas de custeio existentes, vantagens e características e
utilização nas Organizações ,e sua integração aos demais sistemas com o uso da TI.
Educação
Compreende o estudo da utilização da Tecnologia da Informação no Ensino da
Contabilidade, Administração e áreas afins.
Pesquisa em Tecnologia e Sistemas de Informação
Compreende o estudo das metodologias utilizadas na pesquisa em
Tecnologia e Sistemas de Informação como meio de apoio aos orientandos e pesquisadores no
desenvolvimento de seus projetos de pesquisa.
Sistemas de Informação
Compreende os estudos sobre os Sistemas de Informações Empresariais (ERPs) e dos Sistemas de
Informações Econômico-Financeiros de uma organização, entre outros.
Tecnologia
Engloba o estudo das capacidades da Tecnologia de Informação na mudança da estrutura e funções dos
Sistemas de Informação e das atividades empresariais. Inclui o estudo da Contabilidade e Redes de Comunicação,
Internet, Comércio Eletrônico, etc.
Objetivos Específicos
Desenvolver pesquisas sobre a gestão da Tecnologia de Informação e dos Sistemas
de Informação em Instituições públicas, privadas e na sociedade em geral,
incluindo políticas públicas utilizadas atualmente.
Desenvolver
pesquisas sobre as diversas formas de utilização das Tecnologias e dos Sistemas
de Informação pelas Instituições Transnacionais sob a perspectiva das diferentes
dimensões culturais.
Desenvolver
pesquisas e avaliar a inovação tecnológica em TI e SI tais como XBRL, ERPs,
COBIT, ITIL, Inteligência Competitiva, Governança Corporativa, Auditoria
Contínua, entre outros.
Desenvolver pesquisas em
colaboração com Laboratórios e Instituições dentro e fora da USP em temas
multidisciplinares.
Repassar os conhecimentos adquiridos em cada área chave para a comunidade acadêmica e empresarial por meio
da Revista JISTEM, cursos, publicações e palestras.
Promover Seminários e Conferências na área de Tecnologia e Sistemas de Informação, Contabilidade e Gestão, que
contribuam para a difusão do conhecimento e das pesquisas desenvolvidas por acadêmicos e profissionais brasileiros.
Justificativa
As organizações estão em processo de transição dos modelos clássicos para modelos
baseados na informação e em redes. A Tecnologia de Informação tornou-se um
instrumento para obtenção de vantagem competitiva sendo também uma facilitadora
na adaptação às mudanças do ambiente.
Entende-se por Tecnologia e Sistemas de Informação, ou simplesmente TI, "o conjunto de todos os
recursos tais como, Hardware, Software, Processo ou Sistemas de Informação, que trata e torna a informação
disponível no tempo, local e formato necessários".
A TI interfere e influencia na operação das organizações e nos seus resultados econômico-financeiros sendo um viabilizador de negócios para qualquer organização.
Os Sistemas de Informações Empresariais atuais utilizam os conceitos de sistema
único e a empresa como entidade econômica.
Como principal linguagem de interpretação e mensuração dos resultados de uma empresa, a Contabilidade possui
forte interseção com a TI que é um dos seus principais instrumentos de mensuração.
Como decorrência da intensa utilização da TI nas operações das empresas, o estudo de sua aplicação no ensino é
de vital importância para a adequação das metodologias e dos currículos à realidade das necessidades dos alunos
de graduação e pós-graduação.
Por atuar em uma área interdisciplinar, o TECSI necessita interagir com outros centros de pesquisa, empresas e
demais laboratórios com a finalidade de atuar integradamente.
O TECSI estabeleceu vários convênios de cooperação com empresas e instituições para o
desenvolvimento conjunto de trabalhos e pesquisas.

Research Lab was created in 1995 by Prof. Prof. Edson Luiz Riccio, graduate
and undergraduate students collaborate on teams to support the research and
teaching activities.
TECSI is currently associated

objectives
TECSI contributes to the
development of researches on Management and the effects of Information
Systems (I.S.) and Technology (I.T.) in the organizations.
TECSI members study the I.T.
and I.S. intersections with the fundamental domains of other areas such as
Business, Controllership, Accounting, Education, Costs, Auditing, Planning
and Control, Strategy and Information Science.
The domains of
the areas above are examined in a broad view and the researches are driven
to the study of the Brazilian situations. The basic concepts of each
key area are:
Business /
Strategy
It studies how
the Information Technology creates new opportunities of businesses and its
impact in the structure and in the behavior of the companies, markets and
industries.
Auditing
It studies the influence of the IT in the development of the auditing,
including Systems Auditing and Financial Auditing.
Knowledge
It studies the nature of the information as a competitive advantage and how
it is used, distributed and managed in the organizations.
Accounting / Controllership / Planning
It studies the measurement needs and the evolution of the Strategic
Accounting Models, Managerial and Financial.
Costs
It studies the current costing systems, advantages and characteristics and
use in the Organizations, and its integration to the other systems with the
use of the Information Tecnology.
Education
It studies the use of the Information Technology in the Teaching of the
Accounting, Business and related areas.
Researches in Information Systems and Technology
It studies the methodologies used in IT and IS research as a support to the
students in the development of their research projects.
Information Systems
It studies the ERPs and Financial Systems of organization, among others.
Technology
It includes the study of the capacities of the Information Technology in
the change of the structure and functions of the Information Systems and of
the business activities. It includes the study of the Accounting and
Communication nets, Internet, Electronic Trade, etc.
Specific objectives
To develop researches
Information Systems and Technology Management in Public and Private
Institutions, and in the society, including public policies.
To
develop researches on the several uses of
Information Systems and Technology in Transnational Institutions under
the perspective of the different cultural dimensions.
To
develop researches and to evaluate the technological innovation in IT and IS
such as XBRL, ERPs, COBIT, ITIL, Competitive Intelligence, Corporate Governance,
Continuous Auditing, among others.
To
develop researches in collaboration with Laboratories and Institutions inside
and outside USP in multidisciplinary themes.
To
review the acquired knowledge in each key area for the academic and business
community through the JISTEM Journal, courses, publications and lectures.
To
promote Seminars and Conferences in the area of Information Systems and
Technology, Accounting and Administration to contribute to the diffusion of
knowledge and the researches developed by academics and Brazilian professionals.
Purpose
The organizations
are in process of transition from the classical models to the models based
in information and networks. Information Technology became an instrument
for competitive advantage.
We understand Information Technology and Information Systems, or simply IT,
as "all of resources such as Hardware, Software, Process or Information
Systems, that deals with information in the time, place and necessary
format."
IT interferes and influences in the operation of the organizations and in
their economical-financial results being a mean of businesses for any
organization.
The current Business Systems uses the "unique" system concepts and the
company as economical entity.
As main interpretation language and measurement of the results of a
company, the Accounting possesses strong intersection with IT which is one
of their main measurement instruments.
As consequence of the intense use of IT in the operations of the companies,
the study of its application in the teaching is of vital importance for the
adaptation of the methodologies and of the curricula to the reality of the
graduation students' needs and masters degree.
For acting in an interdisciplinary area, TECSI needs to interact with other
research centers, companies and laboratories with the purpose of exchange
points of view.

institutions for the development of works and researches.
